Ryan Barrientos, M.D., is a Native Houstonian, and Board-Certified Gastroenterologist with Houston Regional Gastroenterology Institute in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Barrientos received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University in College Station, and went on to earn a Doctorate of Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center Medical School in 2006. He then completed an Internal Medicine Residency with the University of Texas Health Science Center in 2009 followed by a Fellowship in Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition in 2012.
Dr. Barrientos serves as Chief of Gastroenterology at HCA Houston Medical Center, and cares for patients at The Woman’s Hospital as well.
He also holds a position as Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at the Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine at the University of Houston.
Dr. Barrientos has received a number of recognitions throughout his career as Houstonia’s “Top Doctor’s Award” and was selected for the inaugural placement of the Duopa gastrostomy delivery system for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease.
Dr. Barrientos ensures his patients are an integral part of their treatment plans and understand the steps in achieving a healthier tomorrow.
